The main idea of Treason is betrayal. Adam Lawrence, who is played by Charlie Cox, is a troubled M16 agent. From his point of view, his past will always catch up with him. He is in charge of everything, but he has to take a chance on a Russian spy named Kara (Olga Kurylenko). Kara screws up Adam’s present so he has to deal with his past. There is a lot going on in the relationship between Kara, Adam, and Maddy (Oona Chaplin). As their situation gets worse by the minute, they work harder to find out each other’s secrets and destroy the one thing they love.
Treason is different from other spy films. The story is mostly about a vicious love triangle set against a background of deadly threats, Russian agents, complicated political and diplomatic problems, and high-stakes situations outside of the country.
