What are Puffer Jackets?

A few favorite things about winter is Thanks Giving Dinner, Scented Candle, and Cozy Coats. While the teddy bear jackets may not stay long, puffer jackets are a classic style here to stay. Each year, new varieties of puffer jackets can be seen in the women’s markets, like cinched waists and flattering designs. The goose-down filling that’s often used to line puffer coats makes one feel that he/she is wrapped in a cloud. There are simple black puffer jackets or bolder ones.

Puffer jackets are also called quilted jackets. They have a signature quilted design with puffy sections between the stitching and are filled with either synthetic fibers or down insulation. Despite being very warm, they are lightweight. It provides a unique combination of lightness and warmth. Vertical and horizontal puffers are the most common ones, but diamond and other geometric shapes are also there. Quilted designs can vary from small diamonds to larger triangles, which allows for different fits and styling.

Difference between Puffer Jacket and Down Jacket –

The down jacket is soft and has heat-trapping fluff from ducks or geese. These natural materials are used as insulation. Puffer jacket uses synthetic insulation. After washing “down jacket,” down insulation settles and loses its fluffiness, collecting in clumps and lose its heat-trapping capacity. While puffer jacket synthetic insulation doesn’t clump or break apart after washing.
