Major secret effects of eating bread, Experts reveal!

Eating bread can be very beneficial and effective to gain sound health if opted for the right one. The founder of Cultivate Nutrition, Mary Stewart, RD, LD says, “When the carbs in bread are highly processed—think white bread—they lack nutrients, such as fiber, vitamins, and minerals.”

The expert dietician claims, ” If you choose a healthier, whole grain bread that’s minimally processed, you end up getting a great source of fiber, complex carbs, and essential nutrients—all of which benefit your health.”

Mary states that one must opt for organic bread made up of whole grains or sprouted grains and contains at least 3 grams of fiber per slice.

Energy Boost!

The major important factor of the human body is carbs, we need it in a good and sufficient amount. Thus, bread is the rich source of carbs, and expert Kate Turner, Founder of ‘Live Well with Kate,’ notes, “Simply put, carbohydrates supply the body with energy.

Meanwhile, Mary states, “As a primary source of fuel, your body breaks down simple and complex carbs into glucose to be used by cells throughout your body or to be stored in muscle or the liver for future use,”

Also, she mentions, “White bread will give you some immediate energy, but because it has a minimal amount of fiber and lacks vitamins and minerals compared to whole grain bread you’ll likely feel hungry sooner.”

Improved Digestion!

Notably, bread also helps in keeping the digestive system well. Expert Kate states, “Carbohydrates that are rich in fiber, like some whole grains, can help keep you fuller for longer by slowing down your digestion, and improving your overall gut health.”

Although it is not every time, one is getting fibers in proper and enough amount.

Mary claims, “Only 5 percent of Americans consume the recommended amount of daily dietary fiber (roughly 24 grams for women and 38 grams for men). The benefits of consuming fiber range from healthy, regular bowel movements (preventing constipation) to feeding your good gut flora, which leads to a healthy gut microbiome- impacting digestive health, mood, weight, and immune system—and supporting the elimination of toxins.”

Thus, the whole-grain bread helps to gain the fiber quota and also supports healthy digestion and a slew of other health benefits.
