Season 6 of “The Handmaid’s Tale”

Thankfully, Hulu has confirmed that there will be a sixth season of The Handmaid’s Tale.

Recent Released: Blood and Water Season 3 Release Date

Unfortunately, despite Hulu having renewed the dystopian drama for a sixth season back in September, this will be its final season.

In a press release announcing the sixth and final season of The Handmaid’s Tale, showrunner Bruce Miller remarked, “It has been a real honour to portray the tale of Margaret Atwood’s original novel and chillingly contemporary universe.”

Many years after the events of The Handmaid’s Tale, Miller has said that he is “actively writing” a sequel series based on Margaret Atwood’s novel The Testaments.

Season 6 of The Handmaid’s Tale: Possible Air Dates

Hulu has not announced when the final season will be made accessible to subscribers, but we may make a reasonable guess based on the show’s past performance.

Season 5 of The Handmaid’s Tale premiered in the United States 15 months after the conclusion of Season 4, therefore we can anticipate the arrival of Season 6 in late 2023 or early 2024.

Performers in Season 1 of “The Handmaid’s Tale”

Season 6 of The Handmaid’s Tale would be severely lacking without June Osbourne (Elisabeth Moss), however her return to the show is by no means assured.

  • The character of June Osborne, played by Elisabeth Moss.
  • Luke Bankole is O-T Fagbenle.
  • Commander Max Minghella Bradley Whitford as Nick Blaine’s Commander Lawrence, Joseph
  • Serena, played by Yvonne Strahovski Waterford, Joy
  • Anne Dowd as Aunt Playing Janine is Lydia Madeline Brewer.
  • Moira, played by Samira Wiley
  • Rita, played by Amanda Brugel

Seasonal: The Handmaid’s Tale, The Narrative

June and Luke (O-T Fagbenle) were at odds when he surrendered to Canadian authorities, as shown in the stunning season five conclusion. Nichole, June’s youngest child, and herself were able to join the refugee train just in time. Serena (Yvonne Strahovski), who was pregnant at the time, and her newborn son Noah were discovered by Serena among the Gilead refugees.

June, like the other heroines in The Handmaid’s Tale, is sent on a task that requires her to act independently of anybody else. This time, she was off to Vancouver, and then on to Hawaii. But Serena could opt to go with her. Season 5 covered a lot of ground, and it seemed like Hannah (Jordana Blake) and Janine (Madeline Brewer) were getting ready to start a revolution.

Many have speculated that the film adaptation of the novel would offer a different ending to June’s story, given that the novel continues until The Testaments. Bruce has already warned novel fans that the upcoming film adaptation will be more faithful to the Hulu series than it would be to the 1984 novel.

But June won’t be featured prominently in the new show. Not even a small part of me wants to bind her up like she is in The Testaments. What matters to me most is that the story makes sense and doesn’t break the fourth wall. His intestines emptied themselves down the sink.

Bruce continued, “I think that they had lives, just like they did before we launched the show. We won’t notice how she goes about her business as long as she keeps doing it her way. Being that we took such a detailed look at the situation, you’re undoubtedly curious as to how it ends for her, but that’s beside the point.
