Usage of iOS 15 for iCloud storage for free backup!

iCloud

Apple with iOS 15 updates the ways the users can transfer their stuff from one iPhone to another. There are three ways to move things from one iPhone to another. If the user is running macOS Catalina or newer, they can plug their iPhone into their Mac with a charging cable and use Finder. This is fast, but users need a Mac and enough space on it for the backup file. Apple’s direct data migration tool can be used that copies old phone data into a new phone without using a computer or iCloud. The major disadvantage of this is that both phones cannot be used when the transfer occurs, and the transfer takes an hour or more to finish.

Users can use the cloud to do the transfer. In this, users don’t need to be tied to a computer, and an old phone can be accessed while the new one is downloading your backup file. The disadvantage of this is that enough backup space has to be there in the cloud account. Users can use iOS 15 to borrow some iCloud storage for free to back up.

How to use iOS 15 for iCloud storage for free back up –

Users can start the process up to 21 days in advance of buying a new iPhone. Note that any new texts, iMessages, photos or videos won’t be in that backup. Users can get additional 21 days to restore their temperorary backup if the new iPhone doesn’t arrive in 21 days. When the new iPhone arrives, power it on and follow the prompts, completing tasks like entering a passcode, setting up Face ID and agreeing to Apple’s terms and conditions.

Eventually, the users will end up on a screen offering different ways to transfer data. Select Restore from iCloud. Then sign in to iCloud with the same Apple ID and password as the users have for the old phone. Follow the prompts by choosing the most recent backup. After this, the backup file will start downloading onto the new phone. Once the download is complete, the new iPhone will reboot, and the apps will finish downloading. All of the messages, appointments, contacts, emails, photos will be there.
