Characters of The Lord of the Rings!

The Lord of the Rings is a series of three epic fantasy adventure films. The films are directed by Peter Jackson and based on the novel written by J. R. R. Tolkien. The movie has subtitled The Fellowship of the Ring (2001), The Two Towers (2002), and The Return of the King (2003). New Line Cinema distributed and produced the film with the co-production of WingNut Films.

Characters of The Lord of the Rings –

  • Frodo Baggins – A young well-to-do hobbit. He discovers that the magic ring left by his eccentric Uncle Bilbo is one Ring that he reluctantly takes to destroy. Often referred to as the Ringbearer.
  • Gandalf the Grey – A wizard and best-known hobbit for his mischievous sense of humor and firework. He is one of the most significant Middle earth powers and shares the truth about the Ring with Frodo and acts as a guide and counselor. The leader of the Fellowship. He is called by various names like Gandalf the White, Stormcrow, Incánus, Mithrandir, Olórin, the Grey Pilgrim, Tharkûn, the White Rider.
  • Samwise “Sam” Gamgee – A hobbit Frodo’s friend and servant on the quest and Gardner at home. Sam is fond of stories about elves and dragons. A member of the Fellowship stays with Frodo after it is broken.
  • Meriadoc “Merry” Brandybuck – Frodo’s one of the cousins and young hobbit. A member of the Fellowship. Companion of King Théoden of Rohan and friend of Treebeard the Ent.
  • Peregrin “Pippin” Took – Frodo’s one of the cousins and young hobbit. A member of the Fellowship and a member of the Tower Guard of Minas Tirith.
  • Aragorn – The rightful king of Gondor and the heir of Isildur. He is a healer and a mighty warrior. He leads the Fellowship after Gandalf’s fall. Elves of Rivendell raised him, and now as a leader of the Dúnedain, the Rangers of the North live in exile.
  • Legolas – The king of the Mirkwood elves and son of Thranduil. He is a great archer—a member of the Fellowship.
  • Giml – A dwarf of the Lonely Mountain and son of Glóin. A member of the Fellowship. He falls in love with Galadriel.
  • Boromir – The Steward of Gondor and son of Denethor. A member of the Fellowship. He dies defending Pippin and Merry from orcs.
  • Sauron – A powerful spirit of evil and now takes the form of a disembodied flaming eye. Like greed, cruelty, and the desire for domination, the worst aspects of power are represented by him. One Ring is his weapon.
  • The Nazgûl, Servants of the Enemy – One of the greatest king. 
  • Gollum – An earlier Ringbearer. He had the Ring, which gave him long life, and he lived on an island under the lake. 
  • Bilbo Baggins – Frodo’s much older cousin and the most eccentric hobbit in the Shire. He adopted Frodo after his parents die. 
  • Tom Bombadil – Of the ancient world, a nature spirit who helps Frodo on the Barrow-downs and the Old Forest. 
  • Glorfindel – An elf-lord.
  • Elrond – Master of Rivendell. The council that decides to destroy the Ring Elrond is the host. 
  • Arwen Evenstar – Daughter of Elrond.
  • Galadriel – Lady of the Golden Wood of Lothlórien. 
  • Saruman the White – The head of the order of wizards.
  • Éomer – Son of Éomund.
  • Théoden – King of Rohan, a nation of horsemen and warriors. 
  • Éowyn – Niece of Théoden.
  • Grìma Wormtongue – Counselor to Théoden.
  • Shadowfax – The most remarkable horse in Middle-earth.
  • Treebeard – The oldest mortal creature in Middle-earth.
  • Faramir – Younger son of Denethor and brother of Boromir.
