Forrest Gump is an American comedy-drama film. The film is directed by Robert Zemeckis and written by Eric Roth. In the movie, many decades of the life of Forrest Gump is shown. He is slow in understanding but a kind-hearted person from Alabama who has seen many historical events in the 20th century in the United States. The film was released on July 6, 1994, and received positive reviews.
Characters Forrest Gump –
Forrest Gump – Thomas Jeffrey Hanks played the role. At a very young age, he has an IQ of 75, which is below average, and is an inspiring character devoted to his duty and loved ones. He faces many life-challenging situations, and throughout his life, he faces many historical events and characters.
Jenny Curran – Robin Gayle Wright played the role. Forrest’s childhood friend with whom he falls in loves and loves him throughout his life. She is a victim of child sexual abuse by her widowed father and leads a different life from Forrest. Jenny leads a self-destructive life and, in the 1960s, became a part of the hippie movement in California and the 1970s part of drug culture. At many times in adulthood, she entered Forrest’s life and eventually became a waitress in Savannah, Georgia, and lives with her and Forrest’s son in an apartment. Forrest and Jenny get married, but she dies due to illness.
Lieutenant Dan Taylor – Gary Alan Sinise played the role. He is Bubba Blue’s platoon leader during the Vietnam War, and his ancestors have died in every war that happened in the U.S. Dan thinks that even he has to follow what his ancestors did. He lost his leg in an ambush, and without his wish, Forrest recuses him, which makes him angry with Forrest as he couldn’t follow what his ancestors did. He later falls into depression. But in the end, he forgives Forrest and thanks to him for saving his life.
Benjamin Buford Bubba Blue – Michael Williamson played the role. Bubba Gump Shrimp Company Buford was supposed to be a senior partner. But he died in Vietnam, and Dan Taylor took his place. The company posthumously carried his name. His share of the business was given to his mother by Forrest.
Mrs. Gump – Sally Field played the role. She is Forrest’s mother and loves him unconditionally.
